The Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) has officially launched the Namibia Household Income and Expenditure Survey (NHIES), which commenced on 28 April 2025 and will run until 22 April 2026. This nationwide survey was initially scheduled to begin on 25 March 2025 but experienced a slight delay.
The NHIES is a critical national initiative aimed at collecting comprehensive data on household income, spending patterns, and living conditions across all 14 regions of Namibia. The data gathered will be instrumental in informing evidence-based policymaking and resource allocation.
Given the central role of agriculture in Namibia’s economy, active participation from the farming community is essential. The information collected will help shape national policies that directly support and strengthen the agricultural sector.
An official list of selected areas for data collection in all regions is available, along with a contact list of Regional Statisticians who can provide further details regarding specific farm areas.
For convenience, all official documents, including the area list and contact details, are available and can be shared via WhatsApp upon request. Interested parties may contact the NSA at 081 144 4966 or 081 144 4965 to receive the materials.
