Location:  Windhoek, Namibia

Type:  Full-time, permanent


Primary Objective of the Position

The Content and Publishing Editor is the editorial heart of the NAU. This person owns the publication's editorial voice, quality, correspondent network and relationships with the farming community.


The role carries direct responsibility for editorial direction and production across print and digital platforms, management of the Correspondent Programme, the production of the NAU newsletter and ensures that trusted, high-quality agricultural journalism is aligned with the NAU's strategic objectives.

  • Editorial Support to the Communications Department


Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in journalism, communications, agricultural sciences or equivalent.

  • A degree will be an added advantage.

  • Minimum of five years professional experience in agricultural journalism or agricultural publishing.

  • Demonstrated experience managing freelance writers, contributors or a correspondent network.

  • Demonstrated experience producing a print publication, including editorial planning, layout management, print production and advertiser coordination.

  • Indepth knowledge of the Namibian commercial agricultural sector, including commodities, regions and industry stakeholders.

  • Established relationships within the Namibian farming community.

  • Excellent editorial judgment with the ability to produce and edit high-quality long-form content.

  • Experience in managing digital editorial content and publishing workflows.

  • Bilingual: professional working proficiency in Afrikaans and English, written and spoken.

  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel.
