Subsidies available for Lumpy Skin Disease vaccines

The Livestock and Livestock Products Board (LLPBN) approved the partial subsidisation of the Lumpy Skin Disease vaccine at its Board Meeting in November 2025, with effect from 1 February 2026.

 

As part of this initiative, the LLPBN has announced a nationwide 15% subsidy programme for Lumpy Skin Disease vaccine for cattle. The subsidy will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and funding is limited.

 

Producers must meet the following requirements:

  • Approved Lumpy Skin Disease vaccine must be purchased.

  • The producer must be a registered livestock producer.

  • Proof of the original vaccine purchase receipt, or a certified copy thereof, must be submitted.

  • A bank confirmation letter, not older than six months, must be provided.

  • The claim must be submitted for verification.

 

Subsidy Periods

  • First period: 1 September 2025 to 31 March 2026

  • Second period: 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027

 

Claims are limited to 350 doses per producer per subsidy period. All receipts as well as national herd data will be verified. Payment will be made within one month following successful verification.
