The Ministry of Agriculture rolled out a N$28 million support programme to boost food security, productivity and climate resilience among small-scale producers across Namibia’s 14 regions.

Key initiatives include:

  • Horticulture: Subsidies on seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, irrigation and tillage for 1,000 producers.

  • Poultry: Support for 2,000 small-scale producers with stock, feed, veterinary medicines and equipment, plus training.

  • Dairy: Pilots in five regions supporting 150 producers with stock, machinery, equipment and construction materials.

  • Small Stock: Vulnerable households receive 20 ewes and one ram to build sustainable income.

Women, youth, and people with disabilities are prioritised. Interested producers can visit their nearest Agricultural Development Centre to access these subsidies.
