Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) poses a serious threat to livestock health and the agricultural economy. The enclosed FMD protocol is intended to provide clear, practical guidance to farmers, livestock handlers and agricultural stakeholders on identifying symptoms of FMD and responding swiftly and appropriately to suspected cases.
FMD IS A NOTIFIABLE LIVESTOCK DISEASE. If you suspect FMD on your farm, notify your local state veterinarian IMMEDIATELY:
